A young man has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving following a collision near Clawton in March.

A YOUNG driver has appeared before magistrates charged with causing death by careless driving and driving a motor vehicle dangerously.

Adam Garthwaite, 19, from Hele Lane, Frithelstockstone was charged with the offences relating to the death of Paul Garcia in a collision near Clawton on March 3.

Garthwaite sobbed in the dock as he spoke only to confirm his name, address and date of birth.

He entered no plea and the matter was adjourned to be committed to the crown court.
