Cyclist found injured in road near Kentisbury

Police appeal for witnesses after Barnstaple man found with serious injuries on Saturday morning.

A Barnstaple cyclist was found seriously injured in the middle of a road near Kentisbury on Saturday.

Police have appealed for witnesses after the 44-year-old was discovered lying on the A3123 at Coil Cross around 11.30am.

He has been taken to Derriford Hospital in Plymouth where he remains in a stable condition.

The road was closed for more than seven hours as officers from the Serious Collisions Investigation Unit attended the scene and carried out a detailed examination.

Police are trying to find out how the incident happened and are appealing for witnesses to contact them on 101, quoting log number 310 of 17/05/14.
