Torridge District Council has opened three vacancies to help combat youth unemployment.
A COUNCIL in North Devon has created three opportunities for young people to take on an apprenticeship.
Torridge District Council is offering apprenticeships in either finance, human resources or general business administration as part of its drive to combat youth unemployment.
Cllr Barry Parsons, leader of the council, said: “I am delighted that the council is about to recruit a number of apprentices.
“As a council we are keen to see local employers introduce good development opportunities and these appointments will show that the council is leading by example.
“Each of the apprentices will benefit from a structured learning programme organised by our partners, Petroc, whilst working as part of a progressive team.”
Apprentices will earn £10,000 per annum and each programme will last at least 12 months.
