Six plots of land at South Molton, Bratton Fleming, Braunton, Umberleigh and Ilfracombe to go under hammer this month.

Six plots of land belonging to North Devon Council will be auctioned off this month.

The lots listed by Clive Emson include two parcels of land near South Molton, one at Bratton Fleming, one in Braunton, one in Umberleigh and one in Ilfracombe.

Last year the Gazette revealed how the council had earmarked 18 assets to sell off to plug a funding shortfall from the Government.

One of the assets being sold at auction includes the site of the former Ebberley House in Avenue Road, Ilfracombe, with a guide price of £15,000 - £20,000.

The two plots at Mariansleigh, measuring 0.35 acres and 0.18 acres, hold guide prices of £20,000 - £30,000 and £15,000 to £20,000.

A piece of amenity land in Bratton Fleming has a freehold offer of £5,000 - £10,000 and the 0.22 acre plot in Westmead Close, Braunton, has a guide price of £25,000 - £35,000.

The 0.3 acre plot in Umberleigh has a guide price of £10,000 - £15,000.

Scott Gray, auctioneer and regular on BBC’s Homes Under The Hammer, said: “The council has placed some interesting plots up for auction.

“They offer a range of opportunities, perhaps as additional garden areas, or occasional recreational/caravanning/tenting use.

“Of course, there is the potential for residential development, subject to all consents being obtainable.”

Starting at 11am, the sixth of Clive Emson’s eight regional auctions in 2014 takes place at the St Mellion International Resort, St Mellion, Cornwall, on Thursday September 18.
