Around 240 minis formed convoys stretching up seven or eight miles long as they toured the local area.

NORTH DEVON was invaded by brightly-coloured minis this weekend as the annual Grand Tour saw 240 cars convoying around the area.

The minis, which formed convoys stretching up to seven or eight miles long at times, travelled around the area raising money for Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW).

Organiser Terry Baker, of the North Devon Mini Register, said: “It was really good to get such a fantastic welcome in every town we went to.

“It was pouring down on Monday but everybody’s spirits were really high.

“We had 30 amazing bike marshals who were absolutely soaked through but were collecting money on the street with big smiles on their faces.

“I’d also like to thank Rick Turner and his lads at the BIG Sheep for helping us so much with the campsite, especially when it got so bogged down with the rain.”

The total amount raised for CHSW currently stands at around £20,000 bit donations are still coming in.
