A trio of cyclists are planning to bike from Exeter to Barnstaple with a very roundabout route to raise money for the Parish Church appeal.

The three members of the Johnstone’s Decorating Centre Cycle Club will be calling in at every local church dedicated to St Peter or St Mary Magdalene.

The Barnstaple church of St Peter and St Mary Magdalene is seeking to raise £200,000 for essential repairs or upgrades, including to its roof and heating system.

The cycling team of Tony Pettiti, David Slee and Phil Hill will set off from Exeter Cathedral on Saturday, September 20 and visit Stoke Canon, Tiverton, Chulmleigh, South Molton, North Molton, Bratton Fleming and Shirwell before arriving in Barnstaple.

If you would like to sponsor the trio or donate to the church appeal, call in at Johnstone’s Barnstaple in Old Station Road, or contact churchwarden Jeremy Taylor on 07974 962364.
