There is plenty going on this weekend, so whether you fancy Christmas crafting, tasting local produce or riding a steam train, there is something for everyone.
Christmas weekend at Arlington Court
Visit Arlington Court for a true Victorian Christmas experience this weekend.
An 18ft Christmas tree will welcome visitors and Father Christmas will be at the Victorian stable’s harness room from Saturday – Tuesday.
You can also find knitted mice in the carriage museum and on Saturday there will be a festive natural decorations workshop, bookable through the website.
Farmers’ Market at The Big Sheep
Visit The Big Sheep on Saturday from 9am-1pm to stock up on all your festive fare.
Free range turkeys, organic meats, sprouts on stalks, cheeses, cakes, puddings, biscuits, fudge, chocolate, bread, fish and Christmas trees are just some of the delights which will be on offer.
There is free entry to the market and the attraction will also be hosting a range of festive treats and experiences for visitors.
Christmas party at The White Moose
Visit The White Moose gallery in Barnstaple on Saturday afternoon for a free festive soiree.
There will be drinks and mince pies aplenty, including Julie’s special mulled wine, from noon-3pm, and a chance to admire some local artwork.
Santa Special at Woody Bay
The Lynton and Barnstaple Railway will be running its Santa Specials from Woody Bay station this Saturday and Sunday.
Meet Father Christmas in his grotto and enjoy a two-mile journey on the magical steam train.
Santa Specials depart Woody Bay Station at: 11am, noon, 1pm, 2pm and 3pm.
Visit the pantomime
Beauty and the Beast is showing at The Queen’s Theatre all weekend, and what better way to get into the festive spirit?
It provides plenty of laughs for young and old, and a chance to get the whole family together.

Torrington Christmas caper
Fancy getting outside in the fresh air? Why not join the Torrington Christmas Caper on Sunday?
The annual race is approximately nine miles and takes in spectacular scenery through the challenging, countryside route.
It starts and finishes at Torrington Rugby Club - registration is from 9.30am and the race starts at 11am.
Entry is £11 in advance or £13 on the day. Entry forms can be downloaded from www.torringtonaac.org.
