A CHARITY wedding fair is looking for local suppliers to exhibit and donate prizes to an auction and raffle.

Lyn Barefoot, of Barefoot Nails and Beauty, has organised the event in aid of the North Devon Hospice at The Manor House Inn in Croyde.

On September 15, brides and grooms-to-be can browse a selection of North Devon’s wedding suppliers at the free fair.

There will also be a raffle with prizes such as meal vouchers, beauty products, family tickets to attractions, Chasamba classes and a handbag.

An auction will be held during the day with lots including a makeover for five bridesmaids worth £250 and a whole day of pampering for two people.

Lyn, from Bideford, decided to organise the event after three of her friends were diagnosed with different types of cancer.

She said: “After losing one of my friends in February, after only three weeks of being diagnosed with cancer, I felt that I wanted to give something back in return for the fantastic care that she was given by the hospice.

“I have seen for myself how lovely the staff are and what a quiet tranquil place it is to spend your last days.

“Not only do the patients receive the best of care but family and friends are supported through those difficult times.”

Lyn hopes to raise at least £1,000 from the wedding fair and hopes visitors will also give a donation, however small.

“There are still spaces available to exhibit but it is first come, first serve,” said Lyn.

“We have a few people confirmed such as Gooseberry Films, Heyjules handmade jewellery and Tracey Holland who does pet sitting.

“But there are still spaces and of course, we would love it if anyone would like to donate anything to the raffle or auction.”
