A CENTENARY birthday celebration has reunited two Northam sisters after 15 years apart.

Gladys Williams and Phyllis Macaree, nee Waldron, are the surviving siblings of seven children brought up in Cross Street in Northam.

Phyllis, who left Bideford after World War Two, travelled from Surrey to celebrate Gladys’ 100th birthday on January 20.

A family and friends celebration was held at the Royal Hotel, followed by a birthday tea for family and residents at Rosehill Rest Home.
