FIRE fighters in Torrington were called out yesterday (Wednesday) lunchtime to deal with reports of a car spilling petrol onto the road.

A crew were scrambled to South Street where the silver Vauxhall Astra was parked outside of Xanadu fruit shop.

Crews used a hose reel jet to wash away the fuel and an environment agency kit to mop up the remainder while police diverted traffic around the vehicle.
