Car leaks fuel on Bideford bridge

16:21 20 April 2014

Archant

Around six litres of petrol and oil leaked from the vehicle on Saturday evening.

FIRE crews were called out to the Torridge Bridge in Bideford on Saturday evening after reports of a car leaking oil and petrol.

Arriving at the scene just after 6pm, fire fighters from Bideford found around six litres of oil and petrol has leaked onto the road.

While awaiting the arrival of Highways, crews used environmental packs to soak up as much as the liquid as possible.

After making the vehicle safe crews left the duty of care with the owner, police and Highways.
