A CAR was completely damaged by fire in the early hours of this morning (Wednesday) despite fire fighters’ efforts to save it.

A crew from Lynton was called to the lay-by on the road between the Hunters Inn and Combe Martin at around 12.20am.

Crews used two hose reel jets to put out the flames and the police were also in attendance.
