The cancellation of international flights from Exeter Airport could mea more people are taking a ‘staycation’ in the UK, a North Devon holiday lettings agency has said.
Flybe airlines confirmed this week it would be cancelling some of their international flights from Exeter Airport and introducing a new flight to London City from October.
Bideford-based company holidaycottages.co.uk reported the search term ‘Devon Holidays’ was used 44 per cent more in the last week.
James Morris, managing director, said: “After seeing the loss of the international flights from Exeter and the positive introduction of the London flight, we are expecting great things from this year’s summer season.
“We’ve been letting properties in the South West for over 35 years now and we’re delighted that UK residents are realising the potential of taking a holiday in the area.”
