The ultimate challenge to test strength and endurance while raising money for Help For Heroes.

FITNESS fanatics will have the chance to test their endurance while raising money for charity during the Military Fitness Challenge.

The challenge, held on September 18, will consist of six one-hour sessions in South Molton, Barnstaple and Tiverton raising money for Help For Heroes (H4H).

Anyone can take part in one or two sessions, or test their endurance by completing all six run by Wayne Sibthorpe of DS Fitness.

Wayne served in the army on operational tours of Kosovo and Iraq, and has more than 30 years’ experience in fitness training.

He said: “The reason I chose H4H for my chosen charity is I have seen the fantastic work that they do with regards to supporting wounded and injured soldiers.

“The fantastic facilities built with charity money raised to help rehabilitate and train our injured troops are second to none.

“As a serving soldier I have seen friends and colleagues injured or wounded on operations and understand how important the physical and psychological process is to their recovery and to giving them some form of normality in their everyday lives.

“Without H4H our servicemen would not get the fantastic support they so fully deserve.

“The least we can do if we send our servicemen out to war is to support them when they come home.

“The military fitness challenge is a tribute to those that put their life on the line to protect the security of our country allowing all of us to live our lives in a free and just society.”

The sessions, which are all taken by ex or serving military qualified physical training instructors, cost £10 each and are open to anyone over the age of 18.

All proceeds are donated to the charity and entrants could be in with the chance of winning spot prizes from sponsors.
