Go along and find out more about the plans to help the homeless through a converted double decker bus

The innovative Bus Shelter North Devon project is hosting two open days this Sunday and Monday.

The project run by Survival Bags Home and Away is working to convert a double decker bus into accommodation for the homeless while offering support to get them off the streets for good.

It is currently in a quiet field near Barnstaple but all are welcome to go along and find out more about the project – just register an interest by messaging the Bus Shelter North Devon Facebook page or email

The open days run from 11am-2pm and entry is by £5 donation towards project funds. Refreshments will be available.

The group is keen to hear from any skilled tradespeople such as plumbers or kitchen fitters and electricians who might be able to help continue the conversion of the bus.

It is hoped the scheme will provide emergency accommodation but also long term support for homeless people.
