Group celebrates centenary year by giving back to the community.

‘A Brownie Guide thinks of others before herself and does a good turn every day’ – and that’s exactly what Third Torrington Brownies have been doing.

To celebrate the Brownies’ centenary year, the group has been contributing to the Torrington community.

The brownies donated a flower planter to the Baptist church to thank them for hiring the hall, and have raised £155 during a coffee evening for K9 Focus.

Shirley Lee, of the Brownie group, said: “As part of our centenary challenge badge work we knitted squares at Brownies and the leader sewed them together to make two dog bed blankets too.

“We also donated a hamper to them containing pet food, treats and toys for the animals.”
