M and E Alarms employees enjoy unexpected bonus as their company celebrates 30 years.
A Barnstaple boss has celebrated the 30th anniversary of his family business by giving his staff 20 opportunities to win a free car.
Martin Masters of M and E Alarms at Pottington has bought £600 worth of raffle tickets for the Chemotherapy Appeal Grand Car Draw and distributed them among his 30 staff.
“We are also celebrating six members of staff who have been with us for more than 20 years,” he said.
“So in recognition of that sort of loyalty we have purchased 20 tickets for each employee.
“This is a fantastic way of supporting the Chemo Appeal as almost everyone ion North Devon, or their friends and family, will have been touched by the chemotherapy unit at Barnstaple, which has been a massive support to so many.
“We would also like to thank all our customers, past and present, for supporting us over the past 30 years.”
The grand draw was launched in April by the North Devon Gazette, teaming up with Parkside Kia in Barnstaple and the Hospital Charity to offer the chance to win a Kia Picanto worth around £8,000.
The draw takes place on March 27 next year and tickets are available from the hospital foyer, Parkside, the Gazette offices in Old Station Road and now at M and E on Pottington.
Fundraising manager Ian Roome said so far a whopping 6,000 tickets had been sold, but there were plenty still available.
“We would like to thank Martin and everyone at M and E for their brilliant support of the appeal, which gives our fund a big boost towards our £2.2million target,” he said.
