A Bideford paper crafter has created a giant knight to help raise awareness of rare lung disease.
A Bideford crafter is hoping to raise money and awareness of a rare lung disease – with the help of a knight in shining armour.
Annette Joyce, of Paper Palaver, has created ‘Sir Dunalot’ out of paper and cardboard, and is hoping visitors to her stall in Bideford Pannier Market will be encouraged to donate to raise money for research into lymphangio leiomyomatosis (LAM).
Annette was inspired to raise money of the condition, which affects women of childbearing age, after her friend’s daughter died from it, aged just 28.
She said: “I thought if I put the knight out with a fundraising bucket, people could come and see him and donate some money.
“He is also looking for a home – which must be indoors – so if anyone wants him they can have him for a suitable donation.”
Find Sir Dunalot at Paper Palaver in Bideford Pannier Market, which is open Tuesday to Saturday, 9am-3pm.
