Money awarded from community grant will go towards equipment for the event
Torridge District Council has boosted Bideford Bike Show with a grant of more than £2,000.
The council has awarded the show, which will celebrate its fifth year in 2018, with £2,250 following a community grant bid.
The money will be used to buy equipment for the event, which sees crowds in excess of 3,000, such as signage, uniforms, tables and gazebos.
The annual event attracts thousands of bikers, and raised £3000 for chosen charities.
Organiser Lisa Elston said: “We are really grateful for the ongoing support of Torridge and Bideford Town Councils for their generous support that helps to make this event a special day in everyone’s calendar.”
The community grant bid was supported by Councillors Trevor Johns, Peter Christie and Mayor of Bideford, Councillor Dermot McGeough.
Councillor Christie added: “I’m really glad we were able to support this unique event in Bideford which has proved to be a big draw for visitors and enthusiasts.”
