Two planning applications up this week could see more than 100 new homes built in village.

NORTH Devon Councillors are being asked to approve two planning applications that could see more than 100 new homes built in Bickington.

Members of the planning committee will meet tomorrow (Wednesday) to determine plans for 59 houses at Mead Park.

They will also be asked to give the go-ahead for the part demolition of a two-storey home and the erection of 15 homes off North Lane.

The special hybrid application submitted by Landlink Ltd also features outline proposals for a second phase of development that could see a further 50 homes on the site.

Councillors are being recommended to approve both applications despite objections from local residents and Fremington Parish Council.

The North Lane development has prompted 44 letters of objection and one letter of support.

The Mead Park plans, which planning officers warn will need ‘finely balanced’ deliberation, has prompted 29 letters of objection.
