Our reporter went to test out the new rooms and the ‘Rolls Royce’ of beds at the Barnstaple Travelodge.

BARNSTAPLE Travelodge is celebrating a new look after the hotel in Roundswell was part of a £57million investment by the company.

The 45-room hotel which first opened in 2006 on the A39 has undergone a new room design and new luxury beds called the Travelodge Dreamer.

The Dreamer was billed as a luxury kind size bed, a 952 individual sprung pocket mattress which is supposed to support the natural contour of your body.

Gazette reporter Sarah Howells went to road-test the new beds and said: “Apparently this bed is dubbed the ‘Rolls Royce’ of beds in the industry.

“I certainly slept well – it was extremely comfortable and I woke up feeling refreshed.

“The new look rooms are a pale blue – nice and calming – and manager Anna Tarrasiuk provided a warm welcome on our arrival.”

Anna added: “We are very excited to have benefitted from this investment.

“The work was carried out with no disturbance to our day to day operation and the feedback we have received from customers has been outstanding.

“Everyone loves the new warm, contemporary feel of our new room and there is no doubt the hero of the room is definitely the Travelodge Dreamer bed.”

Other additions in the new Travelodge room include a larger desk, new carpet, artwork above the bed and a stylish white contemporary en-suite bathroom.

The refit was carried out in just a week by the hotel’s in-house maintenance team and is part of a £223million investment by the company nationally.
