Storage company offers Santa and co a helping hand this Christmas.

A BARNSTAPLE self-storage firm is offering Father Christmas some extra help storing the presents this Christmas – all in aid of Children’s Hospice South West.

The free ‘elf’ storage service is being offered at branches of Dainton Self Storage, including at the Barnstaple branch in Braunton Road.

For a minimum donation of £1 mums and dads can keep presents away from prying eyes in the lead up to the big day – perfect for storing large presents such as a bike or a collection of smaller gifts.

The company has set aside secure storage units that make better hiding places for presents than the traditional cupboard, garage or attic.

Dainton’s operations director, Shaun Duncan, said: “The company has been raising funds for Children’s Hospice South West throughout the year and we wanted to champion this fantastic cause at a time when many people’s thoughts naturally turn to their families and children.”

The firm hopes to raise £5,000 by the end of the year by also selling cardboard boxes for just £1 with all the proceeds going to children’s hospice.

Naomi Dymond, corporate partnerships fundraiser at the charity, said: “At times during the year, some of our children and families need very special care and Christmas is one such occasion.

“Many parents feel overwhelmed by the competing demands they are juggling at this time – the round the clock needs of their child, the anticipation of brothers and sisters and the challenge of preparing all the festive fare.

“This is why our hospices remain open throughout the year – so we can be there for families, whenever they need us, to provide much needed support.”

Deposited gifts can be picked up until 4pm on Christmas Eve.
