Lee Roberts is walking from Barnstaple to Bideford on Sunday (July 27) for North Devon Hospice.

A Fremington teenager is walking from Barnstaple to Bideford in memory of his nan this Sunday (July 27) to raise money for North Devon Hospice.

Lee Roberts, 13, is setting off at 10am and will be completing the 10 miles in memoriam to Pam Jones, who died from cancer on July 28 in 2007 aged just 54.

She was at the hospice for two weeks before she passed away and the whole family was impressed with the care and support shown by the hospice.

He is hoping as many people as possible will support his sponsored walk and make a donation on his Just Giving page.

“Even though I was only young I remember the hospice were really good to her when she stayed with them, and helped her and us in sad times,” said Lee, who goes to Pilton Community College.

“Now I’m older I would like to help raise money to make sure the hospice can be there to help others too.”
