Barnstaple pupils pull together for animal charity

PUBLISHED: 15:32 09 July 2011

A group of pupils from Orchard Vale Community School in Barnstaple are so passionate about animals that they have taken it upon themselves to organise a charity day to raise money for the RSPCA.

The event, put together by Daniella Morgan, Georgia Cooper, Hannah Colebeck, Katie Dewberry and Sasha Nicholls, will take place at the school on Wednesday of next week (July 13.)

The whole community is invited to visit the school from 3.15pm to enjoy a variety of stalls including bric-a-brac, cakes, games and sideshows, face painting and much more.

Daniella explained all the girls loved animals and when they heard the Barnstaple RSPCA centre had closed they were even more determined they should do something to help their favourite charity.

Headteacher Jan Baker was greatly impressed by the spirit of Daniella and her friends and agreed to help them organise their event.
