Barnstaple Fire Station appeals for new recruits

Open events to be held for those who live or work in the town and are interested in becoming a retained fire fighter.

BARNSTAPLE Fire Station is hosting a number of open evenings for prospective on-call fire fighters this month.

The events will be held at the fire station in North Road on Tuesday, March 25 on 6.30pm and Sunday, March 30 at 10am.

The service is specifically looking for people who can give day cover during the week and can offer 42, 63 or 84-hour contracts.

It is also looking for people working in the Barnstaple town or Pottington areas who can be released by their employers to respond to the station Monday – Friday.

Those interested must be over 18, have a good level of fitness and be within a five minutes’ response time from the station.
