The Bideford Amateur Athletics Club took on the challenge in aid of local charity Northam Lodge.

BIDEFORD Amateur Athletics Club is celebrating after it’s ‘awesome pub run’ raised nearly £170 for charity.

The club took on the run from pub-to-pub across Bideford and Instow, then taking the ferry to Appledore, finishing at its club house.

Entrants paid £2.50 each to be donated to Northam Lodge and ran a collection along the way in each of the eight pubs it visited.

Candace Jewell, joint Bideford AAC Harrier secretary, said: “We all love our running but there is also a big social side to the club and this event was definitely a fun running event.

“Big congratulations to everyone who took part and a big thank you to everyone who donated.

“A special thank you to Appledore and Instow ferry for accommodating us so well on the day; and also the Beaver Inn in Appledore for kindly supplying well needed sandwiches and chip.”

Anyone interested in finding our more about the club or joining can contact Candace or Doug on bidefordaac@hotmail.com or visit www.bidefordaac.co.uk.
