Appledore gets ready for carnival parade

Appledore carnival is taking place today (Sunday) with a colourful procession leading through the fishing village.

Appledore Carnival is taking place this afternoon (Sunday), with events from 3-6pm.

Floats will assemble for judging at 3pm with the carnival starting at 4pm.

Roads will be closed through the village from 3.45pm-5.30pm.

After the procession, there will be a party at Appledore Social Club from 5pm.

This year’s Appledore Carnival Queen is Ellie Saltearn, aged 11, who is the fourth queen in a row to be picked that belongs to Appledore Gig Club, and is due to attend Bideford College.

Her attendants are Olivia Jackson, 10 and Winnie Evans, 10. The fairies are Kelsey May Spencer, six; and Martha Jackson, six; with pirate Kaiyron Bennett, five.
