Antique jewellery taken during broad daylight burglary in Ilfracombe

Police appeal to house owners to keep doors secure during the hot weather.

POLICE have issued an appeal after a number of items of jewellery were taken during a burglary in Ilfracombe in broad daylight on Thursday.

The incident occurred some time between 11am and 5pm in Granville Road when the property was entered by an insecure rear door.

Items of jewellery were taken from a dressing table in a downstairs bedroom, including an antique diamond and sapphire eternity ring.

A diamond and ruby ring; a Victoria and pearl garnet ring; a gold bracelet and three sets of gold earrings were also taken.

Police have warned members of the public to be extra conscious during the hot weather and keep doors secured and no valuables on show.

Anyone who has any information regarding this burglary is asked to contact police on 101 quoting police reference CR/094104/14.
