Participants are being urged to sign up for the race with a difference at Abbotsham’s Ultimate Adventure Centre.

THE Ultimate Adventure Centre in Bideford is challenging North Devon’s fittest to take part in a triathlon with a difference this May.

The event, which takes place near The Big Sheep at Abbotsham on May 19, includes a water and land-based assault course, an eight or 10km off-road mountain biking and a five or seven km cross country run.

Places are limited to 100 and junior distance events will also be available for younger participants.

Organiser Simon Wright, of the Ultimate Adventure Centre, said he hoped the event would attract families as well as ‘die hard’ triathletes.

“I know we’ve had a lot of interest from serious runners, but this should be a fun course for everyone,” he said.
