RECORD-breaking Braunton surfer Andrew Cotton was a head attraction at a one-of-a-kind surf conference.

Cotton and Barnstaple personal trainer Wayne Large were among nine speakers at the Atlantic Centre in Newquay, Cornwall, on March 29.

“It was an honor to be speaking amongst such a great line up of speakers,” said Wayne. “I hope what I have shared will help everyone catch some more waves and have fun.”

The Social, Environmental, Economical and Developmental programme (S.E.E.D) hopes to expose issues of sexism within surfing, explore the rise of social media, promote new wave technology and encourage a greener approach.

With more than 50,000 surfers in the UK, and new learners each day, S.E.E.D aims to help the positive impact the surfing lifestyle has had locally and globally become recognized.

Different possibilities for the future are being discussed and The Wave in Bristol has already been looked at as a potential location for upcoming conferences.
