Gazette campaign will highlight North Devon’s brightest and best small businesses.
THE North Devon Gazette is calling for readers to celebrate the best shops that North Devon has to offer.
In the current economic climate, and faced with ever-increasing competition from the internet and out-of-town multi-nationals, there has never been a tougher time for North Devon’s independent businesses.
We know that for many people, the weekly supermarket shop has become a part of everyday life.
But we also know thatmany choose to support their independent shops and that in towns and villages around the region, there is an army of excellent shopkeepers using experience, service and specialism to ably compete with the big boys.
We think there is room for both and we want to hear about the shops that go the extra mile to provide top quality service with a smile.
Whether it’s in Barnstaple, Bideford, Ilfracombe, South Molton, Torrington, or in a nearby village or hamlet, we want to know about your favourites.
Just tell us why you use the shop and what makes it so special and each week we’ll feature one of your nominations in the newspaper.

Love Leas In Torrington. A small but fulfilled 'shabby chic' accessories shop. Bringing modern but vintage gifts at a very reasonable price. Very friendly staff.

The West Country Cheese Co, Butchers Row, Barnstaple. Great selection of cheeses and more! friendly staff and just a brilliant shop with lots of local produce, just how like it!
