Next time you are online, do a google search for "buzzword bingo" it is all the rage in public sector or quango meetings, tick your card each time a "buzzword" is used and shout "house" and collect your P45 if you fill in a card... It is criminal to steal a purse, daring to steal a fortune, a mark of greatness to steal a crown. The blame diminishes as the guilt increases
I think they originated from corporate sources where pimply 'barrow boy' types were out to impress - they have, as you say, migrated to the public sector - albeit several years later.
The one that gets up my nose is your cocky young estate agent who 'phones you just to touch base '.
Mmmm a bit of "Blue Sky Thinking" there Seadog I think
What we need is a "Top down proactive consumer led recovery", or perhaps even some "collateral damage" or a spot of "Dynamic empowerment"!
Or we could just listen to the "Chilcot Enquiry" and get a "Bullshit Tsunami"! It is criminal to steal a purse, daring to steal a fortune, a mark of greatness to steal a crown. The blame diminishes as the guilt increases
Touch Base drives me crackers and "Signpost me in".
Hard Working People or today I'm a Lazy Lie About! It is people coming from Univercity who want to make them sound clever, really cool, Blue Sky Thinking (horrid) Think Outisde the Box (what Box)
They then sound so dated. Then we have a new lot.
MP's don't write their own speaches. A few years ago everything was "absolutely"
Mind you if you think of P.G. Woodhouse, with his words like Dash Ho perhaps every generation has them!
Dash and Dam time to fly off (not Buzz off)

Just picked up on this one, we used to have suppliers but now we have outreachers , what !!!
The one that amuses me is, " we will park that and come back to it later" and they don't mean cars.
Interestingly enough the Americans have an excellent phrase for this type of language which I will gladly email to anyone who asks but I can't put it in this forum.
I think everyone is not too blame, in any enquirey then they "learn from it" and take things forward. The Mid Staffs Hospital no one was to blame!!! Even though mistakes were made.
If you can admit you make mistakes, learn from them, no one looses jobs and realatives are still furious and angry at their bad treatment or whatever.
It is spin and spin and tells you nothing.
If you are really clever likes banks, you still get bailed out and paid a bonus!

Just thought of another one "Take that on Board" "Gatekeepers" and why do we use the American word "janitor" for caretaker... if you think of the first one Take That on Board, it could be Gary Barlow etc. etc.
We have to move forward with this issue I keep getting Buzzed up by these flipping buzzwords.

Eccentric he may be. He's also a nuisance. Methinks it would be a different story if it were a young person skating up and down, weaving in and out of the strollers.
I think that Sidmouth should have a Superdrug. I have flown to Exeter today and it would give Boots a bit of Competition.
I have found another record shop, there is Martian Record, Opus (Classical) in the Guildhall Centre, Fopp and HMV. At Taunton they have two independent record shops. Cheapest on price dare I say was Sainsbury's for what I wanted Goldfrapp and Forever Vienna.
Getting back to Buzzwords now when my other half seagull is in a meeting, he now says "what does that mean" in a meeting, me being a part time "underling" (or very little importance) if I said that they would probably think where is the "Dunces" hat for SS.
I am now sick of Lobbyists, are they not like Bart Simpson, go on and on until they get what they want, or like seagulls squawk and squawk.... but not this one because it is well behaved.

Re: Buzzwords and Eccentrics and a Crack in the Cliffs
Dear Local yocal
If "Thats Life" was still going he would be a person to appear on it. There are plenty of eccentrics in Sidmouth - it makes life interesting.
If you look at the cliffs there is quite a crack opening up, high up, with this rain...... the weather forecast for Easter is not too good. When are we going to have some warm weather?
