I think that all the sites within the Devon24 grouping are subsidiaries of Archant publishing. As far as I know, Archant don't have a foot in the larger centres, so these Forums exclude Plymouth and Exeter and Torbay. It would be interesting to get the views of the larger population, there would be a wider political base, typical of urban, more "leftist" centres , sadly lacking in perpetually tory East Devon!!
Mike----------------if you think leftist policies are good for this country , and have led to a "better place" over the last few years ----then I surrender to your better judgement.
As far as I am concerned ( born in a Council house, and a Labour voter for many years ), the majority population in this country have been sacrificed and betrayed , simply to further those very same leftist policies.
You live in a" bubble" in the South-West, and if you now visit our once great cities and large towns elsewhere, or read the daily papers, and don't feel utter despair, -- you're a better man than me !
By the way, I am under no illusion that the " other bunch" are any better, and are capable of even arresting ( never mind reversing ) the slide into the dilution and degeneration of our once great society and country.
As for me, ( a proud English man ), I have given up the academic struggle now, and wouldn't even walk across the road to vote for any of them !
You think you've got problems? I'm all alone up here on the North Devon forum and no one responds to my posts. Even a leftyish liberal or East Devon Tory would do!
We would consider adding an Exeter forum if there were enough Exeter threads to justify this. However, at the moment there are no Exeter topics on the General Devon forum! Please feel free to start some :)
