Bargains Galore fire - why so long for the aerial platform?
When I heard what was happening yesterday I went and watched as events unfolded at and around Bargains Galore.
The fire service were clearly doing their absolute best, but it appeared to me that the blaze was still out of control over 2 hours after it started, the rear of the buildings were still well ablaze. The situation improved quickly once they got that big aerial platform up and sprayed huge quantities of water on the fire from above.
My question is this; If my timings are correct, why did it take so long for that aerial platform to arrive? Perhaps if it had been used earlier some of the damage could have been prevented.
