He seems to be making so many errors with his claims for this and that I do wonder about him.  Perhaps we should have a new MP for this area.    Report

27/02/2010, 4:42 PM Sidmouth Seagull Joined on 16/02/2010 Seafront promenade Posts 313 Re: Latest MP recommendations This morning I was talking to somebody from the Midlands.  I asked who was their MP, they said Lynda Waltho (never heard of her) he said she did a good job, but has a small majority.  Back I go and get the complete Daily Telegraph expenses files and looked her up.    Looking at the "50 SAINTS IN THE TELEGRAPH", not all of them live near London, Blackpool, Devon (A.W.) Wolverhampton, Brighton, Portsmouth and so on, all parties.  We do not hear about these 50 saints who manage and minimise their expenditure, one stays in a flat over a pub (conservative) who states he is doing his bit for the licence trade!   They should be the one running the country because they run a tight ship in our own interest.   "Sidmouth Seagull" @ the top of lampost along the promenade!!! I have to pay taxes to this country, it seems strange if you employ financial advisors you can keep more of your money.   My piggy bank says he would like an "offshore account" too.... but with about £1.00 in he will have to wait......... every mickle makes a muckle my Mum used to say, but what is a Mickle and a Muckle? 28/03/2010, 9:41 PM Sidmouth Seagull Joined on 16/02/2010 Seafront promenade Posts 313 Re: Latest MP recommendations Dear Mike The election date has not been announced yet, I am getting bored.  This election it will be the first time I don't want to go out and vote.  I have lost all respect for most of them.  They tell other industries to "modernise" yet to me it is Pot Calling Kettle.....They ought to be cut down (pruned) made to attend the area the represent once a week....... at local area level, not miles away, they are there to help local people and serve and represent them.  This would keep the keen genuine MP's and get rid of the ones who just like the power, a nice second home paid community charge etc. etc. and goodies which go with it.  Integrity needs to be brought back. Listening to MPs on the radio telling us they work so hard (me, thinks they protest too much) and need second jobs to keep them in touch with industry....  are we really that stupid.  If they cut MP's holidays  to say 5 or 6 weeks, they worked longer,  we pay them. that coudl go to decreasing all the debt this country is in  They would not be able to have the time to attend and do other jobs.  What about the televison, radio fees.  We now have civil service helping to find work for Junior Ministers - perhaps "touching base" help in the Community.   We now have Brussells which most laws are made yet we still have the same number of MP's and they tell us industry has to be leaner, keener and fitter etc. etc.   All "these hard working MP's", should "think outside the box and touch base with real life and keep the voters signposted" to what they have actually done weekly.  You not only have the same number of MP's but we pay for the Euro MP's too and office staff etc. etc.  Then the Army, Navy, etc. plead for money to fight a war miles away.  A war widow I noted last week was given a pension of £6,000.......... when MP's moan at £65,000......   Seagull is very grumpy on this issue, flapping it's wings - they may even feel like passing a law culling seagulls!   "Sidmouth Seagull" @ the top of lampost along the promenade!!!
