---------Good Luck to the re-vamped King William in Budleigh !---------
I always like to see enterprise rewarded
Just a couple of personal requests to the new owners---------pleeeeeeease, if you do open for "breakfasts ", then make them available at " breakfast time "-------------no, I don't expect you to open up at 7.30am, but surely, 8.30/9.00 am is a viable time to start serving up bacon and eggs etc.
Also, at lunch time, can we have something nice ,without chips ! ---( and also a couple of tasty veggie options, like omelettes /risotto/ quiche etc)
Yummy, I can't wait to give it a try, with wifey in tow !

I always like to give credit, where credit is due and I must complement the new people in the Ocean House (AKA Old King Billy) I have been in three times now and would like to say, the coffee is superb, the staff are friendly and the prices are good, bearing in mind the quality of service. For years in Budleigh, we have been plagued with cafes that supply "pre chewed food for elderly folk", but nothing aimed at those of us, who still have their own teeth, or taste buds. We now have!
It may seem trivial, but I had a beef "open" sandwich today, which without a doubt was the best sandwich I have had for years. Superb beef and plenty of it, sun dried tomatoes, dressing and salad with proper bread and cracking horseradish. Gets five stars in my book any day! My only sadness was I could not have a glass of wine, as they have not got a drinks licence yet, but I look forward to that being sorted. They don't do a "breakfast" but I did mention it, even a nice toasted bacon pannini or similar would be good for a Saturday morning treat...but we shall see, these things are demand led. However, that aside, a big pat on the back for quality and good service. I hope you do well... It is criminal to steal a purse, daring to steal a fortune, a mark of greatness to steal a crown. The blame diminishes as the guilt increases
